A unique form of book, based on a personal theme; the everyday things I missed during my first year as an international student in London. Things that are so obvious to us that we don’t realise how important and meaningful they are until we can’t have them. Since speaking in my native language was the most notable thing I was longing for, I chose to use letters from the Hebrew alphabet as the main visual feature in the book. On one side, each letter embodiment the basis of a colourful radial patterns. On the other side, the patterns are layered into squares to create a rich and vibrant textures. The text forms a short poem describing the things I miss and reinforcing the visuals. The final outcome is a book which unfolds, gradually revealing new aspects of longing.
